Vietnam’s trade surplus with the EU rose to 35.5 billion dollars, said the Europe-America Market Department of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
In total, the commercial exchange in 2022 summed 76.3 billion dollars, which represented a 5.1 percent year-on-year increase.
According to the entity, the EU is currently Vietnam’s main trading partner and the third largest export market, with an average annual growth rate of 7.5 percent.
Sales to the EU accounted for 13.6 percent of the full volume of Vietnamese exports in the 2015-2021 period, the source added.
Vietnamese products have a share of the community import market of 1.8 percent, higher than that of other Southeast Asian nations such as Malaysia (1.2 percent), Thailand (0.9), Indonesia (0.7) and Singapore (0.7).
