The Al-Ahram newspaper noted that the figure was released by Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly during a cabinet meeting held in the New Administrative Capital.

Madbouly said that the amount was reached despite the challenges faced by the industrial and productive sector in Egypt, as well as the economic and geopolitical crisis that the world is experiencing.

During the meeting, Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, explained that of the total, 18.2 billion dollars corresponded to the sale of crude oil and gas.

In the same gathering, Ahmed Samir, head of Commerce and Industries, stated that Egyptian non-oil exports exceeded 35.6 million dollars.

Egyptian authorities announced plans to reach $100 billion a year in foreign sales by 2025.

Egypt launched last year a project to reduce imports and increase exports, especially in nine sectors, including wood and furniture, chemicals and textiles.
