The event, which will take place from March 22 to 25 at the Pabexpo fairgrounds, already has confirmed participants from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Panama, as well as more than 30 state companies and new Cuban economic actors.
During a press conference at the headquarters of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), the Organizing Committee informed that the calls remain open, also for Cubans residing abroad, private companies, non-agricultural cooperatives and self-employed workers linked to development of hydraulics.
Under the motto “For sustainable hydraulic engineering”, the event will include the 15th International Congress of Hydraulic Engineering, a Commercial Technical Symposium and an Exhibition of Water Technologies and Products.
Therefore, it will promote the sharing of knowledge, the dissemination of updated information and the promotion of technologies and products associated with the management and use of water, within the framework of the 2030 Agenda.
According to the first vice president of INRH, Bladimir Matos, the modality Blended learning will allow sharing experiences and technologies, since water problems tend to be common throughout the world and the solutions may also be the same.
He added that the event will begin on March 22, World Water Day, to remember that this resource is not only of vital importance, but also an engine of the economy.
Regarding the selection of France as the guest country of the event, he pointed out that it is not accidental: “Cuba has always relied on that European country for cooperation and commercial exchange, based on hydraulic development.”

The scientific congress will have five forums to analyze the integrated management of water in hydrographic basins, water and sanitation in urban and rural areas, hydraulic infrastructure, the advancement of women and the role of youth, she pointed out.
