The group of agents arrived in this country at the international airport of this capital and not at the new Felipe Angeles Airport, at which President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador asked his U.S. counterpart to arrive on Monday, as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will do, when the bilateral meeting takes place.
According to schedule, which has not been changed, the meetings will held from Jan.9 to 11, but the summit itself will be held on Tuesday, since Lopez Obrador will meet with Biden on Monday and with Trudeau on Jan.11.
It is very likely that one of the topics to be discussed by the US security group with the Mexican president will be whether Biden will finally agree to use the Felipe Angeles terminal, as requested by Lopez Obrador, more for political reasons than for modern facilities.
A few days ago, according to La Jornada, the Mexican president said that the US Secret Service is still not convinced that the president will arrive at the Felipe Angeles International Airport to participate in the North American Leaders’ Summit as he proposed.
