According to the Russian government, among the issues discussed by the two heads of state was collaboration in the fields of energy and industry, sectors in which there is a long-standing and highly important bilateral exchange.
Putin and Díaz-Canel also expressed the intention to comprehensively strengthen the Russian-Cuban strategic association, the statement from the government of the Eurasian nation specified.
In addition, the leaders confirmed their willingness to consistently implement the agreements reached during Díaz-Canel’s visit to Moscow from November 19 to 22, with due consideration of the proposals and wishes of the Cuban side, added the Kremlin.
As a result of the conversation, the presidents of Russia and Cuba “agreed to intensify contacts at various levels.”
During his November visit to the Russian capital, Díaz-Canel discussed the development of bilateral relations with Putin and also participated in the inauguration ceremony of a monument, in Moscow, to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
