Tel Aviv, Dec 25 (Prensa Latina) A survey revealed that 42 percent of Israelis are pessimistic about the future of the country in view of the arrival to power of the new government, the most right-wing in the country's history.

A poll by the Kantor Institute highlighted that only 29 percent of interviewees were optimistic and the rest avoided answering.

In addition, 65 percent rejected the appointment of Aryeh Deri, leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, as a minister in the new cabinet.

Deri left the Knesset (Parliament) in January as part of a plea deal for tax crimes, although he has now returned to the floor in elections held in early November.

The politician also served 22 months in prison from 2000 to 2002 for accepting bribes while serving as Interior Minister.

Another survey by the Manu Geva Sample Institute and Ipanel firms highlighted that 51 percent of Israelis are dissatisfied with the appointments to integrate the Executive.

At the center of the controversy are also the far-right deputies Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir, who have openly racist and anti-Arab positions.
