Portal reaffirmed that, in spite of the fact that the Cuban health system is facing a recovery process following the severe confrontation with Covid-19, “we are willing to share what we have”.
Alfred Mutua, on the other hand, expressed Kenyan patients’s gratitude for attention received from Cuban doctors, a recognition of Cuba´s Health System quality.
The Kenyan foreign minister also acknowledged Cuba’s scientific potential to generate and produce its own vaccines to fight off the pandemic, despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government for over 60 years.
Cuba is very important for us, we are brothers and sisters, and you can always count on our support, Mutua stressed.
Minister Portal also talked about possible exchange between the pharmaceutical industries of both nations, not only vaccines, but also other innovative Cuban products for treating chronic noncommunicable diseases such as cancer.
