At the monument to the Heroes of the Homeland in the Plaza de la Revolución of this capital, they placed floral offerings in homage to the 192nd anniversary of the death of the liberator.

During a political-cultural event for the anniversary, the Venezuelan ambassador to this Central American nation, Francisco Javier Arrué, highlighted Bolívar’s qualities and affirmed that he is a reference to the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.

“He dreamed of unity, of the Latin American and Caribbean union and it seems unbelievable that 200 years had to pass for that dream of Bolivar’s union to be revitalized again,” he stressed.

The diplomat recalled that Bolívar’s last words before his death were for the unity of the peoples, “for that great homeland that he dreamed of and that we follow hand in hand with our heroes today and with a commander Hugo Chávez who returned to us.” wake up”.

“We have implacable enemies who do not rest, but they have not realized that we do not rest either and if they hit us to the right, we hit them to the left, but we are not going to give up because we do not know how to surrender,” he emphasized.

For his part, the member of the Venezuela-Nicaragua friendship group Carlos Emilio López, commented to Prensa Latina that all the principles inherited from Bolívar are foundations to fight against North American neocolonialism.

“He taught us to defend the rights of sovereignty, identity, self-determination, independence, that we were not anyone’s colony, or anyone’s flag star, but rather that we build our own political, economic and social model”, highlighted the also deputy of the Sandinista bench.
