Ankara, Dec 16 (Prensa Latina) Turkish authorities confirmed that at least eight policemen were injured after the explosion of a car bomb in the province of Diyarbakir, in the southeast of the country.

The lives of the injured in the incident are not in danger, the Turkish Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, assured on his Twitter account.

The attack was also confirmed by Türkiye’s Interior Minister, Suleyman Soylu, who explained that the event took place around 05:10 local time.

He also said that two people considered responsible for the incident were taken into custody. So far, there have been no claims of responsibility for the attack.

However, the Diyarbakir Prosecutor’s Office assured that three other people were arrested shortly after the opening of an investigation to clarify what happened.

The province is located in the southeast of the country and is one of the zones with kurdish majority in Türkiye.

The event took place about a month after the death of six people in a bomb attack in the city of Istanbul, perpetrated, according to Ankara, by suspects of terrorist and subversive activities against Türkiye.
