During a meeting in Washington with leaders of American Jewish organizations, the president stressed the importance of reaching a solution to the issue, based on international resolutions.
Resolving this issue will clear the way for a new era of peace, cooperation, development and peaceful coexistence in the area, the ruler said.
He stated that Cairo will continue its support to any effort that guarantees a fair and permanent agreement for the Palestinian people, based on the resolutions of the UN Security Council and international laws.
The Egyptian authorities are trying to bring Palestinians and Israelis to the negotiating table, although Tel Aviv rejects any process aimed at finding a solution to the conflict, so long as colonization continues in the occupied territories.
In 1979, Egypt was the first Arab nation to sign a peace agreement with Israel, and in recent decades, it has become an essential mediator between it and Palestine.
Last August, Cairo played a key role in stopping the Israeli military offensive against the Gaza Strip, where 49 Palestinians were killed, 17 of them minors.
Egyptian efforts were also an instrument in reaching a cease fire during another aggression on the Gaza Strip, in May 2021, when more than 250 people lost their lives.
