Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang stressed on Thursday that the US action is based on non-objective assessments and incorrect information about this issue and recalled that the population’s freedom of worship and belief was established in the 2013 Constitution and other laws of the country.
Vietnam is willing to exchange with the United States on issues of interest with frankness, reciprocal respect, and without reservation to contribute to boosting comprehensive partnership between the two nations, the spokeswoman said, quoted by VNA.
At a meeting with leaders of worship organizations on the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that religious followers contribute to the bloc of national unity and are an inseparable part of cultural and spiritual life of the Vietnamese people.
He also recalled that President Ho Chi Minh invited many religious leaders to serve as advisors to the Government immediately after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was founded in September 1945.
