The entity admitted that the number of active cases continues to increase in the country since the previous report informed 1,800 fewer cases, while the number of deaths increased from 67 to the reported number .
So far, Mexico has a total of 7,165,257 contagions and the death toll, due to complications caused by the pandemic, amounted to 330,699 since February 2020, when the first case of SARS-CoV2, was reported.
The Secretariat added that during the 49th epidemiological week, which lasted from December 4th to the 10th, the daily number of cases per week increased to almost 2,000, with an average of one death.
The weekly technical report also reported that the ten federal states that accounted for the 64 percent of all infected persons were: Mexico City, Mexico State, Nuevo Leon, Guanajuato, Jalisco, San Luis Potosi, Veracruz, Tabasco, Puebla, and Sonora.
With 81,227,614 vaccines administrated, 91 percent of adults aged 18 years or older have also received at least one dose, and with 60 percent, the immunization plan for children five to 11 years of age covered 9,336,069 minors.
