According to local reports, all eyes are on tomorrow’s call, to see if the president of Parliament, Nabih Berri, turns it into a consultative dialogue session to calm things down, agree on one or more names for the presidency and take the path of understanding.
The Al-Anbaa newspaper mentioned that the Development and Liberation bloc, Loyalty to the Resistance, Democratic Encounter, National Moderation, Independent, Sunni representatives and the Kataeb Party, expressed their willingness to attend the talks without any preconditions.
The two largest Christian groups, the Free Patriotic Current and the Lebanese Forces, are keeping on a hold their decision to intervene in any dialogue.
According to the Al-Akhbar newspaper, Berri will use the first moment of the session for a vote and then hold bilateral meetings with the heads of the blocs.
The Al-Joumhouria media outlet said the dialogue will be possible if at least one of the main Christian parties is present, so that a greater representation will allow an agreement to be developed so as to elect the new head of state of the Republic.
