The cabinet confirmed the meeting between the two leaders in the context of the first Arab-China Summit organized on Friday by Saudi Arabia.
Miqati thanked Beijing for its effective contribution over the years in protecting stability on Lebanon’s southern border through its active participation in the United Nations Interim Force.
The Lebanese prime minister highlighted China’s experience in the field of infrastructure and encouraged a greater presence of investors in Lebanon.
Miqati also mentioned China’s financial contribution in the construction of the National Conservatory of Music and called for the opening of Chinese markets to Lebanese handicrafts.
In this exchange, President Xi Jinping appreciated Lebanon’s positive contribution in strengthening cooperation between Arab countries and China in the field of renewable energy.
The first Arab-China Summit took place in the context of President Xi’s tour to Riyadh. A joint action plan for the period 2023-2027 was adopted, emphasizing on continuing to dialogue and supporting international economic recovery.
