ROSTEC said on Wednesday that there are plans to manufacture about 270 MS-21 aircraft before 2030, which will allow millions of people to use them.
Last April, the head of the United Aeronautical Corporation, Yuri Sliusar, declared that the company will produce 36 planes by 2025 and then increase production to 72 aircraft per year.
The MS-21 is a new-generation medium-range commercial aircraft with a seating capacity ranging between 163 and 211 passengers.
On December 2021, this aircraft, built entirely using Russian materials, made its maiden flight.During the testing, the resistance and characteristics of the materials used were confirmed, and some deficiencies detected in the landing gears were adjusted.
ROSTEC noted that three prototypes will come into operation in 2023 and the plane will enter serial production in 2024.
