It is the second time in its two-year tenure as an elected member of the UN Council that India assumed the presidency of that body.
This country had earlier assumed the UNSC presidency in August 2021.
India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj, said that two high-level meetings would take place this month, “Reformed Multilateralism” on December 14 and “Counterterrorism” on December 15.
India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. Subrahman- yam Jaishankar, is expected to chair both meetings.
