China urges fighting actions that destabilize social order

Beijing, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Party of China (CPC) called on the country's political and legal bodies to fight infiltration, sabotage by hostile forces and any action that affects social order, reported the local press.

According to the main media outlets, the Political and Legal Affairs commission of the CPC called for prompt resolution of conflicts, disputes and practical difficulties faced by the population.

It also demanded that social stability and national security be protected, repealing acts considered illegal or criminal, avoiding potential risks, and strengthening law enforcement.

The call from the commission followed a wave of unprecedented protests over the weekend in at least eight Chinese cities and Hong Kong against the persistence of controversial practices during the fight against Covid-19 outbreaks.

Health authorities criticized and demanded that local governments cease arbitrariness such as prolonged confinements and too many mobility restrictions, because they cause discomfort in society and there is a near link between a recent deadly fire and the deaths of several individuals, including two young children.

Cheng Youquan, of the Administration for Disease Control and Prevention, clarified yesterday that some regions recurred to such policies without obtaining permission, and acknowledged the negative impact on people’s lives and work, because, in addition to the inconveniences, they have caused anxiety.

He also reported on the deployment of supervisors to correct controversial measures and respond to problems among the citizens.
