In statements to Al-Hayat television, the head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Osama Rabie, specified that over 23,000 ships have passed through the canal to date, 15 percent more than in the same period last year.
Recently, Rabie revealed that the canal raised seven billion dollars in the fiscal year 2021-2022, a record in the history of the waterway.
Between July 1st, 2021 and June 30th, 2022, just over 22,000 ships crossed the channel carrying a total of 1,320 million net tons.
