MDC-y-Li-Zhanshu
Beijing, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) On Friday, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met with two senior Chinese Government leaders with whom he highlighted the excellent relations between the different entities of their countries.

Li Zhanshu, president of the National People’s Congress, received the Cuban president Friday afternoon. Both of them analyzed the inter-parliamentary links and expressed their desire to strengthen them.

Díaz-Canel also talked with Premier Li Keqiang, reviewed how the Beijing-Havana relations are performing and ratified the will to raise them to higher levels.

These meetings took place after the Cuban head of State paid tribute with a wreath at the Monument to the People’s Heroes in Tian’anmen Square in downtown Beijing.

Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping officially welcomed Díaz-Canel, talked and witnessed the signing of 12 documents on cooperation in different sectors so as to strengthen Havana-Beijing ties, established 62 years ago and described by both sides as solid.

The meeting also ended with a joint declaration that referred to both countries’ willingness to expand communication and relations in the political and economic aspects and multi sectoral cooperation.

That document addressed both countries’ support on issues of interest during the fight against Covid-19 pandemic and in multilateral spaces.

Among other issues, China ratified the rejection of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba, the imposition of unilateral sanctions and other coercive measures that impede the island development, and its ties with the rest of the world.

Havana reaffirmed its attachment to the One-China principle, non-interference in its internal affairs, and China’s right over Taiwan.
