During a meeting with Prensa Latina President Luis Enrique González, WAM General Director Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi expressed interest in establishing alliances with Cuba’s media and highlighted the agreement signed in the past, which set a precedent in relations between both institutions and paved the way for “further actions.”
Jalal Al Rayssi highlighted the importance of identifying areas of common interest, with a special focus on news related to the United Arab Emirates and Cuba, as well as other relevant issues, while seeking to enhance the development capabilities in artificial intelligence and the metaverse.
González invited the WAM general director to visit Cuba to learn first-hand about the productive dynamics of Cuban media and expressed gratitude for the UAE’s will to strengthen relations of cooperation.
The meeting took place on the second day of the Global Media Congress, which is taking place in Havana until November 17, with the presence of a Cuban delegation made up of directors and young journalists representing Prensa Latina, the Cuban Agency for News, Cubadebate, and Radio and National Television.
