Turkey and UN coordinate efforts to export Russian products

Ankara, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) Turkey and the UN are coordinating efforts to meet Russia's expectations of starting to export its food and fertilizers as part of the grain agreement, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said.

UN Secretary General António Guterres is negotiating to annul the barriers to Russian exports, which have not been completely eliminated, Cavusoglu stressed.

He also explained that it is not necessary to re-sign the grain agreement, which expires on November 19th, because the consent of the parties will automatically extend it.

On November 2nd, the Russian Federation decided to resume its participation in the grain deal after Ukraine, through UN mediation and Türkiye, gave a written guarantee that it would not use the Black Sea security corridor for military purposes.

According to the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation, Moscow will reserve the right to withdraw from the agreement if Kiev violates the guarantees it gave.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on November 3rd that Moscow is satisfied that Ukraine has signed security guarantees with the help of Turkey, but still does not see results in the second part of the package of agreements on the elimination of obstacles to the export of Russian fertilizers and wheat.
