“We have informed the former President’s counsel that he must begin producing records no later than next week and he remains under subpoena for deposition testimony starting on November 14,” the committee said in the statement.
According to terms originally issued by the panel, the filings were due by Friday. Its members unanimously approved subpoenaing Trump for documents and testimony at the conclusion of his last public hearing.
The panel subpoenaed Trump last month seeking a wide array of documents by 10 a.m. Friday and for Trump to sit for an interview under oath beginning on November 14 and “continuing on subsequent days as necessary.”
The subpoena details 19 areas of investigation the committee wants to discuss with Trump regarding the Jan. 6 insurrection and Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
Some press releases indicated that Trump is considering the day he is supposed to testify before the panel to launch a third run for the White House.
