The General Secretariat of the Arab League expressed in a communiqué its deep concern over the situation because of the upsurge of contagions and deaths.
It, therefore, urged its member states, the international community, and relief organizations to take immediate actions to provide urgent health aid.
The call urged accelerating cholera vaccine campaigns in the region to prevent further outbreaks.
Although the report does not mention it, Syria reported more than 1,000 cholera cases and 47 deaths as a result of the disease.
