According to FiveThirtyEight -a vlog specialized in political issues -Bidens approval downed from nearly 43% to 41.5% in the last few days.
Polls also forecast losses for Democrats and advances for GOPers for the House control, as well as new evidence of a resurgence of conservative ranks in key Senate races.
Biden’s strategy will seek to keep abortion rights as the core of Americans’ attention, a potentially defining issue following the Supreme Court’s call past June to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The historical trend is that midterm elections are usually a kind of referendum for the political strength of the president in power, in this case Democrat Biden, whose party is currently losing seats in both houses.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Carlos Ciaño Zanetti, a specialist at the Center for International Policy Research of Cuba, stressed that in the last 40 years the ballpark number of seats lost in the House is around 29, while in the Senate is 3.75 seats.
A Pew Research Center poll found that for 79% of those registered to vote, the economy issue will be all-important for their voting decision.
Nearly 2.5 million Americans have already cast their early vote for the midterm elections, a figure similar to that registered at this stage in 2018, according to CNN.
