According to the Public Health France Agency´s update, Covid-19 transmission rate stands at 1.04%, while the incidence rate is 575 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, more than double the figure reported a month ago.

The infection toll must be analyzed with caution, since many labs are closed for the weekend, so the data for Monday and Tuesday usually include results more than 24 hours. Neither authorities nor experts, however, doubt France is presently facing a fresh wave predicted for autumn.

The country´s hospitalization rate jumped to 19,948, 455 more than those reported on Monday, and 1,069 patients in ICUs.

Regarding deaths, Public Health France mourned 101 new deaths, bringing France´s overall death toll to 156,81.
