Kazakhstan rules out supplying arms to Ukraine

Kazajastán-Ucrania-armas
Astana, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) The supply of military equipment and firearms by Kazakhstan to Ukraine is off the table, assured the Russian ambassador in Astana, Aleksei Borodavkin.

According to the diplomat, the authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan have imposed a categorical ban on the export of arms and military equipment abroad, which excludes their falling into the hands of the Kiev regime, the International Affairs magazine highlighted on Tuesday.

Borodavkin noted that while Kazakhstan abstains in a spirit of neutrality on most issues in the context of the Ukrainian crisis, it opposes attempts by the West to silence Moscow’s voice on multilateral platforms.

It also disagrees with the initiatives aimed at suspending or stopping Russia’s participation in international organizations and forums, the ambassador stated.

In this regard, he stressed that Kazakhstan has a neutral and friendly position towards Russia.

Astana is well aware, and has repeatedly confirmed, that security in the world is indivisible and that no one can and should not enhance their own security at the expense of others, Borodavkin added.

“This universal approach to principles, which our country actively promotes in international affairs, is at the core of Kazakhstan’s assessment of the special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine,” he concluded.
