India has supplied 45 tons of medical aid in 13 batches to Afghanistan in recent months, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The foreign ministry said the aid is a continuation of India’s “special relationship” with the Afghan people and in light of urgent calls by the United Nations for assistance.
The shipment consists of essential and tuberculosis drugs, medical-surgical items, 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, and 40,000 tons of wheat.
The shipments were handed over to authorities at the Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Kabul.
