Electoral Justice: Brazil enjoys calm, harmonious electoral scenario

Brasilia, Oct 2 (Prensa Latina) The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) Chairman Alexandre de Moraes on Sunday claimed that Brazil´s general election voting day has been calmed and harmonious.

De Moraes cited only common problems on voting days, such as long lines in some regions.

“That too, within normality. Obviously, all voters who arrive through 17:00, local time, will be able to vote. Passwords will be handed over (…) so that elections can be completed normally”, De Moraes cleared up.

He also detailed “TSE, as of 17:00 p.m. (local time), will be disclosing all ballot box bulletins over social network so that all people and supervising entities have full access to, eventually, add and confer the elections”.

TSE indicated in latest report that 15 cases of rigged votes (elective corruption), 75 incidents in voting polls, nine violations to secret vote and seven cases of illegal transportation of voters were reported.

In the early hours, major candidates exercised their right to vote including former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, candidate of the Workers’ Party; and President Jair Bolsonaro, who is seeking to be re-elected.

Over 156 million Brazilians eligible to vote will elect their soon-to-be Brazilian president on Sunday, in a polarized Lula-Bolsonaro election race.
