“Our full solidarity with the Cuban government and people in their confrontation with this natural phenomenon which has caused severe material damage to public and private properties,” Foreign Ministry said in a statement and published by official media.

The statement expressed confidence in the Cuban people´s capacity to overcome the effects of this natural disaster, and also announced full support for measures and efforts by the Cuban government to mitigate devastating effects.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry called for the immediate lifting of the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years.
