“There are real possibilities for us to increase bilateral trade and investments of Vietnamese capital,” he told Prensa Latina.
Malmierca developed a previous program of meetings with Vietnamese companies that have businesses in Cuba or are interested in developing them, before joining the delegation that accompanies Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz on his official visit to Vietnam.
In his words, Marrero held meetings with the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State, the Executive and the National Assembly (Parliament), in which the parties expressed their will to develop ties, even at a level higher than the ones already existing.
As part of the Prime Minister’s program, a Vietnam-Cuba Business Promotion Forum was held with the participation of more than 70 local companies, in which Malmierca offered extensive information on the opportunities Cuba offers for foreign investment.
During his presentation at the Forum, the head of MINCEX emphasized that expanding and diversifying markets and the investor portfolio is essential for Cuba’s economic and social development strategy.
