More than 750 meetings between Iranian entities and members of Iranian provincial chambers of commerce and the Russian delegation will be held over the next three days.
The visiting delegation includes representatives of companies manufacturing food products, agricultural machinery, medicines, and leading communication equipment suppliers, among others.
It is the largest trade and business delegation ever sent by Moscow to Tehran, amid efforts by both nations to strengthen economic ties and align against foreign sanctions.
Russia increased its economic and energy ties with Iran in February, when it was subject to Western sanctions due to its military operation in Ukraine; even the strategic relations between the two neighboring countries go back before that crisis.
The sending of the trade and business delegation was notified during a bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi on the occasion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, held in Uzbekistan on September 15.
