On Twitter, the Army confirmed the soldier’s death, although his name was not disclosed.
According to a subsequent communiqué, the troops saw two men near the security fence and when they tried to arrest them, they opened fire.
The two Palestinians were identified as Ahmed Ayman Abed, 23, and Abdul Rahman Hani Abed, 22, both from the village of Kufr Dan, Wafa news agency reported.
At least 97 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire in the West Bank since early 2022, the source informed.
