Foreign secretaries of Mexico and the US begin economic dialogue

Mexico City, Sep 12 (Prensa Latina) The Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard, and the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, today began a high-level economic and trade dialogue agreed from time to time.

Blinken, who arrived this morning, is accompanied by his Trade colleague, Gina Raimondo, responsible for the Treaty with Mexico and Canada (T-MEC), one of the topics of the meeting.

This exchange is a diplomatic mechanism that both nations define as “strategic and flexible” to resolve their economic, commercial and social priorities, indicated the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

The US officials will be received during the day with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the president announced at his press conference this morning.

Ebrard published a message on his social networks in which he welcomed the US delegation recalling that the high-level economic dialogue responds to an agreement between presidents López Obrador and Joe Biden.

Blinken also posted a message noting that the two countries share a border, but also deep cultural and economic ties.
