The clinical trials of the drug are currently being finalized and it is expected that the production of rotavirus vaccine begins in 2023, Rospotrebnadzor reported on its VKontakte page on Monday.
The agency explained that rotavirus is the agent that causes about 40 percent of all acute intestinal infections that can be contracted at any age.
However, children from 1.5 to 2 years old most often get sick, and, as a rule, the virus is transmitted through unwashed hands, contaminated food or objects.
