After paying a working visit to Cuba, Cong Thanh considered it necessary to update collaboration plans and adapt them to the new situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as to strengthen exchanges between the Vietnamese portfolio and the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA).
According to the VNA News Agency, Cong Thanh suggested CITMA to support the implementation of the cooperation program between the Institute of Water Resources Sciences of the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Cuban National Institute of Water Resources (INRH).
This project includes the study of water sources and the prediction of saline intrusion in the Cauto River, as basis for drawing up solutions to increase rice output and improve water supply to residents in the area.
The Vietnamese deputy minister also stated his ministry is set to exchange experiences with Cuba on preservation of natural resources, management and protection of the environment, as well as sustainable development.
CITMA´s Deputy Minister Adrianez Taboada, on the other hand, thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and assured Cuba has potential to cooperate in renewable energy development.
