On Saturday, several mobilizations took place in different regions of Argentina to support the former head of State, while thousands of people arrived in the vicinity of her apartment in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires to condemn the installation of fences, as well as the police deployment in the area.

The City Police repressed those present with tear gas, hydrant trucks, and batons, a journalist covering the events was hit hard on the head, and several people were arrested, among them two legislators.

A group broke down the fences placed by the officers to prevent the access of those who came to express their support from approaching the home of the former president.

The demonstrators advanced towards the building chanting, while the police officers tried to forbid them access, and rubber bullets were fired, which caused more tension.

President Alberto Fernandez and the vice president condemned the violence against those present and held the city’s government responsible for what happened.
