The event, postponed due to the large-scale fire in the city of Matanzas, was attended by the Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Camejo.
The Ecuadorian ambassador José María Borja placed floral offerings at the monuments to José Martí and Simón Bolívar, as a tribute to these heroes.
According to the report, during the celebration the parties highlighted the good state of diplomatic relations between the two nations, as well as reaffirming the Andean nation’s support for Cuba, in its claim against the US blockade.
