The president declared that the objective of these contracts is for Cubans to cover the need for specialist doctors in various regions of the country, including that state where the government’s new health plan for all began.

He reported that these doctors -arrived the day before- will cover specialties in four municipalities and although without giving more details, he stressed they will be assigned to hospitals in Tepic, Bahía de Banderas, Compostela and Rosamorada.

Before starting work, they prepare like the group that preceded them learning the protocols of the system of the Mexican Institute of Social Security and Welfare.

Navarro expressed that, as part of the strengthening of second-level medical care in the new health model implemented in the territory, the 33 Cuban doctors will join these hospitals in specialties such as outpatient surgery and hemodialysis.

But the specialties that this new brigade will attend to are more and include neurology, dermatology, ophthalmology, nephrology, otorhinolaryngology, pediatric oncology, neonatology, cardiology and traumatology.

Regarding the 60 doctors who already work in Nayarit, 20 are specialists in internal medicine, 19 in pediatrics, five in gynecology, 14 in general surgery and two of other specialties.
