Nasrallah stated that if the Lebanese state receives his demands in the dispute with Tel Aviv, it will be calm, otherwise there will be an escalation.

In the context of the activities for the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Lebanese Resistance, the Hezbollah leader clarified that the country’s demand for its rights to the maritime border has nothing to do with the Iranian nuclear deal.

The Resistance leader stressed that Lebanon’s eyes must be on the Karish gas field, the border and US mediator in the dispute Amos Hochstein, “who keeps wasting time, which keeps getting shorter and shorter.”

Addressing the nation’s economic situation, Nasrallah pointed out that the customs dollar being talked about constitutes a big and damaging jump; he also insisted on the need to continue the effort to form a new government in the country.

Hochstein is expected to return to Beirut at the end of the month in order to present a proposal after exchanges with Israeli sources.

At the beginning of August, the Lebanese state reminded the US mediator of its right to the maritime border by fixing its position with respect to the Qana field, a disputed oil and gas-rich area of some 860 square kilometers.

In the general perception, the Lebanese consider the possibility of investing and extracting oil and gas from the maritime border as a fundamental aspect to save the country from the economic and financial crisis.
