Syria ratifies support to China in the face of US interference

Damascus, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) Bouzeina Shaaban, special advisor to the Syrian Presidency, on Tuesday backed the measures adopted by China to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of US interference in its internal affairs.

Quoted by SANA, Shaaban criticized US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s recent visit to Taiwan, and considered that its objective was mainly a propaganda and media stunt.

This visit pretended to show that the United States is on top of everything in the world and that it is capable of doing whatever it pleases, the presidential advisor said.

Shaaban added that China’s countermeasures demonstrated its seriousness and capacity to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The advisor praised China’s policy based on global cooperation, while the United States is doing everything it can to maintain its hegemony.

Damascus condemned in the strongest terms Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan and rejected Washington’s unprecedented and hostile provocative escalation towards Beijing.
