We are especially saddened by the reports of the loss of human lives, and we express our sincere condolences to our brothers in Cuba at this difficult time, particularly those in the affected areas who experienced the devastation firsthand, the executive said in the statement.

Later it stresses that Grenada supervises this unfortunate catastrophe, which started last Friday, and assures the Government and people of Cuba of its full and unwavering support.

This Wednesday, the incident was declared controlled, although some flames still persist, and the authorities proceeded to carry out damage control.
