These statements are contained in a five-chapter statement drawn up by the State Council Information Office (Cabinet), which details the arguments that sustain it.

According to the so-called white paper, resolving the issue is a “shared aspiration of all Chinese sons and daughters” and the CPC, the Government and the people has struggled for decades to achieve it.

It explains with historical, archaeological, geographical, cultural, legal and political factors, why Taiwan is an indisputable part of China and denounces the redoubled attempts by Taipei authorities, with external support, to separate it from mainland.

The document states that the One China principle is a universal consensus and 181 countries globally have recognized it after establishing diplomatic relations with Beijing, included the United States.

The text assures that the peaceful reunification of Taiwan will mean greater regional and international peace and development, not harm the legitimate interests of any State and open the door to greater prosperity.

This is the third white paper China has issued on Taiwan, following those published in 1993 and 2000.
