Two years after the tragic event, the highest State and Government authorities shared messages of condolences to the relatives of the victims and the injured, while they advocated for an investigation free of any fraud, discretionality or injustice.

Mikati wrote on Twitter that the balance of justice will not be straightened without punishing the criminals and absolving the oppressed, and there will be no resurrection for Lebanon without a prompt justice, no matter how long it takes.

On Thursday, the United Nations convened heads of diplomatic missions and specialized agencies of the multilateral body to observe a minute’s silence near the Beirut port to commemorate the second anniversary of the tragedy.
