The Secretariat confirmed a report that has been circulating for a few days, according to which Ebrard will begin a tour of South America this week, attending Petro’s inauguration on Sunday after an official visit to Bolivia.
Ebrard had already visited Petro when he was mayor of Bogota and will now accompany him to the ceremony where he will assume the presidency of Colombia.
He said that it has been a long struggle of defending progressive, advanced ideas, which are now coming to Colombia, since the arrival of Petro’s government to power in Colombia “is a very special occasion for all of Latin America.”
