Amid an indefinite strike by state employees, the professors of the Lebanese University expressed that the authorities insist on the policy of gaining time and postponing the basic and vital files.
In a communiqué, the executive board emphasized the absence of a real help from the ruling class that “only offers crumbs in light of the difficult economic conditions.”
The Association insisted on the Lebanese State’s responsibility to find sustainable solutions and respect the principles of equality, justice and proportionality.
The committee thus reaffirmed the continuation of the open strike and called on the professors to abide by and defend the executive board’s decision for the benefit of the University, faculty, employees and students.
Since June, the Lebanese public employees have been on an indefinite strike with demand to restore vitality to the state administration in the face of the coexistence, economic, financial problems and the official policy of indifference.
