On Twitter, the Cuban leader invited to dedicate the Children´s Day to those who represent “the hope of the world.”
Let there be no lack of ideas and support for our children on the beaches, parks, neighborhoods or even at home. Nothing is more important than their happiness. Let’s celebrate #Children’s Day, #CubaPorLaPaz, he posted.
On this occasion, the Children´s Day, established since 1974, has a special meaning following a two-year lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, for which the cultural centers have provided an in-depth activity program.
Cuba plans to endorse a new Family Code in 2022, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which constitutes a paradigm shift.
This legal norm replaces previous doctrine, which regarded childhood as an object of control and protection, by one in which the little ones are subjects full of rights and responsibilities.
