The prosecution is accusing the politician of receiving gifts from billionaires in exchange for favors.

According to the complaint, from 2011 to 2016 Netanyahu received cigarettes and champagne worth 267,000 shekels (about 76,000 dollars) and 184,000 ($52,000), respectively, while his wife Sara obtained jewelry for 10,900 shekels (about 3,000 dollars).

Prosecutors say the gifts were given by Israeli Hollywood mogul Arnon Milchan.

Milchan’s assistant, Hadas Klein, will be the first to testify in the case being followed up on by the Jerusalem district court.

The indictment alleges that in 2010 Netanyahu ordered General Eitan Dangot to provide Milchan with a military helicopter to travel to Jordan on business.

In addition, it is said that the former head of government also met with Milchan’s accountant, Zeev Feldman, to promise him business plans that would benefit the businessman.

There is also alleged evidence of pressure from Milchan and Klein on Netanyahu in December 2013 and 2014 to help the tycoon receive a prolonged extension of his US visa.
