“Over the last 24 hours, without any participation of the Ukrainian authorities, 29,252 people, including 3,922 children, have been evacuated to Russia from the dangerous areas in Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics,” the military chief told Sputnik news agency.
Mizintsev added that 2,265,057 people, including 356,884 minors, have been evacuated since the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
For its part, the website of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) noted that more than 8.4 million Ukrainians have fled the conflict to seek refuge in neighboring countries.
On the other hand, Mizintsev said that since March 2, Russian authorities have distributed in Ukrainian territory near 39,000 tons of basic items, food and medicines, and carried out 1,249 humanitarian actions.
