The delegation will meet with representatives of international organizations involved in the distribution of aid and is also expected to visit several places where Indian programs and projects are being implemented, as per the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In response to the urgent needs of the Afghan people, India decided to provide humanitarian assistance and in that effort dispatched several shipments consisting of 20,000 metric tons of wheat, 13 tons of medicines, 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines and winter clothing.
The aid was delivered to the India Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Kabul and specialized UN agencies, including the World Health Organization and the World Food Program.
In addition, India is in the process of sending more medical assistance and grains to Afghanistan.
The team will meet with senior members of the Taliban and hold talks on India’s humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
