“Washington does not need an independent Ukraine. The US authorities want to turn it into their colony, extract all the country’s natural resources and use it only to weaken Russia,” the parliamentarian wrote on his Telegram channel.
Volodin added that the countries that the White House supposedly aspired to make democratic and prosperous had been plunged into chaos and faced a humanitarian catastrophe.
“The whole world saw what a democracy based on the American model brought about in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yugoslavia. None of these states that Washington wanted to make democratic and prosperous won,” the legislator said. In this regard, he stated that more than 250,000 local inhabitants died during the 20 years of the presence of US troops in Afghanistan, the population became impoverished, the same case in Ukraine in the last eight years.
“The United States had eight years to turn Ukraine into a democratic, independent, sovereign and prosperous country, when US advisers and instructors were actually running the Kiev regime after the coup,” he stressed. “They closed down unfavorable media, killed independent journalists, banned political parties.”
As Volodin pointed out, instead of developing the country, which had enormous potential, they looted it.
From his point of view, no one in the “corrupt government” in Kiev took into account the needs of the Ukrainian people.
